A Non-Binary Birth Story – Part 3: The Afterbirth and Sutures
December 13, 2021//
Now, as we wrap up viewing one of the greatest moments of my life, I need to warn you. The ending, is bloody and graphic. I’m including pictures of getting my sutures because I hope to normalize it. Getting my yaya sutured up at home in my own bed was a bit uncomfortable, but I’ve had far more uncomfortable procedures done at the doctors office. Please don’t assume that I needed stitches because it was a home birth. In fact, you’re far less likely to need stitches after a home birth than a hospital birth.
The full birth story will be coming in the future, but for now I hope you have enjoyed this visual story. 🙏🏼
With wonder,
Danny (and Wilder)

I love love love the picture of your midwife chilling on your bed in her socks, examining new Wilder in her lap. It’s such a relaxing vibe and it’s so beautiful.
The energy and vibe was everything and why I love midwives and birth workers so so so much. <3
I felt each and every one of these pictures. I’ve birthed 4 kids and ended up with stitches each time. With my last I ended up with over 100. He wanted out.
I’m totally jealous of the chill homebirth vibe. It wasn’t really a thing when I had mine unfortunately. Maybe in my next life ❤
